Yanghu' peaches seize 'the first fruit market in East China'

At 7 a.m. on July 4, in the peach orchard of Yin Dingyu, peach farmer, Xiejia Village, Xueyan Town, workers grabbed the fruit handle with both hands, folded it gently and picked the peach. Within 12 hours, these peaches, crowned as "Yanghu" brand, appeared in the "East China First Fruit City" - Jiaxing Fruit Market in Zhejiang Province. Wujin is one of the main peach producing areas in China. According to the Records of Wujin County, in 1926, Wujin produced 200,000 Jin of peaches. The peaches produced by Wujin were beautiful in appearance and sweet in juice. By 2018, "Yanghu" peach planting area exceeded 30,000 mu, mainly in Lake view, Baifeng, Baihua, Chaohui and other varieties, mainly distributed in Luoyang, Xueyan and other southern towns. Yin Dingyu is a well-known peach grower in Xiejiacun. There are three generations of peaches in his family, and now there are 100 mu standardized peach orchards. "In the past, our peaches have been making wedding dresses for others. Many peasants have shipped peaches to Wuxi for a good price. As the quality is comparable and the price is relatively cheap, over time, Wuxi's peach brokers come to Wujin to buy peaches every ripe season, and put the peaches produced by Wujin on the brand of Wuxi for sale. Yin Dingyu said. In order to enhance the added value of Peach Market and increase the income of peach growers, our region began to pay attention to cultivating fruit trademarks, and registered the "Yanghu" trademark in 2005. In 2018, "Yanghu" peach was appraised by experts of China Forest Certification Committee, and became the first peach product to pass the forest certification in China, filling the gap in the field of forest certification of peach products. Jiang Weihua, director of horticultural workstation of
District, introduced that the cultivation of "Yanghu" brand in our region started from the quality of peach, from peach seedling planting, plastic pruning to fertilizer and water management, fruit bagging, pest control, each production link was strictly controlled, and special local standards for peach were formulated; on the other hand, the strategy was emphasized. Planning and marketing, through the "fruit festival", "peach blossom festival", "tourism festival" and other exhibition platforms, fruit as a medium, to promote the exhibition, so that Yanghu fruit from the "basket snack" into Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other first-tier cities.
Jiaxing Fruit Market in Zhejiang Province is one of the largest wholesale markets in China. It attracts fresh fruits from more than 20 provinces and cities in the country. It covers Zhejiang Province and Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Fujian, Shanghai and other provinces and cities, with an annual turnover of more than 20 billion yuan.
Yin Dingyu told reporters that on May 31 this year, when early peaches were mined and "Yanghu" peaches were listed on the market, they were welcomed by the Jiaxing fruit market, with daily sales of 2 tons. At present, in Jiaxing fruit market, "Yanghu" peach sales have exceeded Wuxi brand peach.
