On July 15, the National Bureau of Statistics issued the "Semi-annual Report" of China's economy for 2019. Since then, the provinces have also disclosed the first half of the economic operation.

According to incomplete statistics by journalists of the Daily Economic News (micro-signal: nbdnews), by the evening of July 22, more than 20 provinces in China had announced the total GDP and growth rate in the first half of 2019. What interesting points can we find from the economic semi-annual reports of more than 20 provinces? Which is the strongest economic development? Reporters at the first time for you to sort out in detail. For a long time, the four provinces of Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang, with their huge economic volume and stable growth rate, have become an important force in China's economic development. In 2018, the total GDP of these four provinces totaled 32 trillion yuan, which is equivalent to the national economy. About 35% of the total.

Therefore, when the local economic data were released one after another in the first half of this year, the first question people thought about was "how did the four major economic powerhouses perform"? The press conference on Zhejiang's economic operation held on July 22 disclosed that Zhejiang's GDP in the first half of the year reached 2825.6 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1% year-on-year at comparable prices, which was 0.8 percentage points higher than the national growth rate of 6.3%. At the press conference, Wang Jie, Director-General of Zhejiang Statistical Bureau, introduced that "7.1% of Zhejiang's total economic output is faster in the eastern provinces with higher level of development." At the same time, the reporter also noticed that although Zhejiang had a good performance in economic growth, Guangdong had the last laugh in terms of total economic output.

According to the news released by the Guangdong Statistical Bureau on the 21st, Guangdong's GDP broke through 5 trillion yuan in the first half of the year, reaching 505.117 billion yuan, an increase of 6.5% at comparable prices. Reporters noted that the huge amount of over 5 trillion yuan also makes Guangdong rank first among the provinces that have announced the total economic volume in the first half of the year. Among the three "echelons" of eastern, central and Western regions, which region has the most eye-catching economic growth? Will there be cases in which the economic growth rate of several provinces collectively exceeds that of the whole country? After collating the data, reporters found that the central region maintained the highest economic growth rate. The economic growth of Shanxi, Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Jiangxi and Hunan provinces in the first half of the year all exceeded the national level and remained above 7%. In contrast, both in the western region and in the eastern region, the situation is not as good as the national level.

Specifically, in the first half of 2019, Jiangxi Province achieved a GDP of 1075.72 billion yuan, an increase of 8.6% over the previous year, which is 2.3 percentage points higher than the national level; Anhui Province's GDP of 1566.4 billion yuan, an increase of 8% over the previous year, is 1.7 percentage points higher than the national level; Hubei Province's GDP growth rate is 8.0%, faster than the national total of 1.7 percentage points. It reached 198.575 billion yuan; Hunan's GDP reached 1778.462 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2% over the previous year, which was 0.9 percentage points higher than that of the whole country; Henan's GDP reached 24203.80 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7%, which was higher than that of the whole country by 14 percentage points; Shanxi's GDP reached 835.765 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2% over the previous year, which exceeded 0.9 percentage points of the whole country. Among these provinces, Henan Province is the most prominent one. The total economic output of 2.4 trillion yuan not only ranks first among the six central provinces, but also ranks third nationwide.

Up to the time of press release, the economic data of the first half of the three northeastern provinces were not disclosed. The economic growth rate of Yunnan is tentatively the first.

The bright spots of the eastern economy are various, the central economy is amazing, and the development of the western region is also not weak. Journalists noted that previous data published successively showed that GDP growth in some western provinces maintained a long-term trend in the first half of the year and continued to rank at the forefront of the country. In the first half of this year, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces in the southwestern region achieved economic growth rates of more than 9%. Yunnan Province ranks first among the open provinces with an economic growth rate of 9.2%. Next came Guizhou Province, which grew at a rate of 9%. It is worth mentioning that the data of 2018 show that Guizhou's GDP growth rate is ahead of Yunnan's. In the first half of 2019, Yunnan completed its "surpassing" of Guizhou. In addition, Sichuan, a major economic province in the western region, has also achieved a good result of more than 1.6 percentage points (7.9%) in the whole country, with an economic total of more than 2 trillion yuan in the first half of the year.

According to the published data, Beijing achieved a GDP of 15212.25 billion yuan in the first half of the year, an increase of 6.3% over the same period of last year, which is equal to the national level.

But Tianjin and Chongqing have some rare bright spots: although the GDP growth of these two cities has not caught up with the national level (4.6% in Tianjin and 6.2% in Chongqing), they have broken through the trillion mark for the first time in terms of total amount: in the first half of the year, Tianjin's total GDP reached 103.716 billion yuan; Chongqing's total GDP reached 103.3476 billion yuan. It also means that both cities have been promoted to membership of the "trillion club". How did the two municipalities directly under the Central Government achieve the goal of breaking through trillions of GDP in half a year? Reporters noted that Chongqing, for example, in the first half of the year, fixed assets investment in the city increased by 6.1% compared with the same period last year; in terms of consumption, the total retail sales of social consumer goods in the city in the first half of the year were 426.394 billion yuan, an increase of 8.9% compared with the same period last year, which was 0.5 percentage points higher than the national level... All of these are steadily boosting the local economy to a stable and better position.
