Although the Yangtze River economic belt has made positive progress in many aspects, the head of the Foundation Department of the national development and Reform Commission said frankly that high-quality development still faces many difficulties and challenges. Among them, the situation of ecological environment of the Yangtze River is still severe, the discharge of various pollutants is still large, the over exploitation of coastline resources, and the decline of aquatic biological resources has not fundamentally reversed.
