Chen Bin: Iron Man in Chemical Industry Construction

12 years, starting from Taiyuan, my hometown, I have been rolling and crawling in one chemical project site after another; 12 years, I have spent sleeping and forgetting to eat, and I have spent many long nights revising the design scheme repeatedly; 12 years, I have made great efforts to achieve the ultimate goal of an industrial plant with Iron-blooded ingenuity. Since 2007, Chen Bin has been deeply rooted in the front line of the project like a nail. He has successively participated in the construction of many large-scale projects, such as the Alumina Technological Reform Project of Yimei Coal, the Methanol Protein Project of Yimei Comprehensive Energy, the Technological Reform of Yimei Coal Gasification Plant, the Caprolactam of Pingmei Shenmaadipic Acid, the matching hydrogen production of Jinmeishan and the relocation of urea. Beginning with a technician, Chen Bin has gone through a hundred battles, steadily and steadily, and practiced a set of "technical flow" of steel and iron.

In 2008, the technical transformation project of Yimei Coal Alumina ushered in a dry period, but it coincided with the most shortage of technicians since the start of construction. Chen Bin, who has just completed a year's work, was ordered to take over all technical and on-site coordination work on his own initiative. Under the scorching sun, Chen Bin gyroscopically rushes between the construction team, the owner and the supervisor, from the preparation of the plan, drawing optimization to the submission of the material plan, the improvement of budget and final accounts, etc. At night, Chen Bin frees up his hands to learn and do, research programs, detailed information... For three consecutive months, the project department has completed the construction task delivered by the owner in advance, and Chen Bin's professional level and comprehensive ability have been greatly improved.

In 2011, the implementation of comprehensive energy project of Yimei Coal met with a difficult problem-the construction and installation of U-GAS gasification plant in the United States, with many core equipment, large scale and high pressure. The design and implementation scheme is quite different from the site conditions, and there are many contradictions. Chen Bin, then deputy manager and chief engineer of the project, took the lead in setting up a technical team to lead a group of "night owls" to carry out night battles, study BIM technology, carry out modeling, simulate on-site construction, improve construction drawings, and successfully complete the construction task at a solid professional and technical level. During this period, "U-GAS Gasifier Installation Law" compiled by him won the first prize of Science and Technology Innovation Award of China Construction Enterprise Management Association in 2012. Chen Bin's parents and wives are all employees of the Second Chemical Engineering Construction Company of China. It is a common practice for Chen Bin to get together, less or less, and leave more. His family gives him great support and encouragement for his work. In July 2015, Pingmei Shenmahexanedioic acid caprolactam project was started. Chen Bin was stationed on the project site from the start of construction. Under the hot sun and high temperature, he worked with workers to promote the smooth implementation of the project. At this time, Father Chen was diagnosed with gastric cancer, Chen Bin went home to visit during the operation, and was blamed by Father Chen: "So busy on the project, all aspects have to be checked, you can not help back, don't delay work."

Leakage happened to happen overnight. When Father Chen died in September next year, Chen Bin was found to have adrenal tumors, and the tumors attached to the organs were even larger than those of the kidneys. After his father's funeral, he stepped on his way back to the project site, clutching the medical report tightly in his hand.

Settled up the work of the project, Chen Bin returned to the First Hospital of Shandong Medical University for adrenalectomy again. After eight and a half hours of surgery, he recovered a life. Seven days later, Chen Bin rushed back to the front line to prepare materials for the ensuing comprehensive inspection of the project.

Long winter day, in the project department, he called to coordinate various matters, while changing dressings alone in the mirror, three thumb-sized holes, medicine rubbed, skin and flesh contracted, pain as if the body was not his own. Finally, the project went into operation smoothly and won the highest honorary award of the chemical industry in China that year - "National Chemical Industry Quality Project". Once when he came home, his young son touched the wound that had healed in his stomach and asked him, "Dad, what are these three plum blossoms?" Chen Bin smiled and said, "This is the mark left by my father when he was an Iron Man." Mother on the other side heard it and almost burst into tears. Over the years of careful research, Chen Bin-lian has become a pair of "golden eyes". In 2018, at the site of Shenma Jingbao Coking Oven Gas Desulfurization Project, Pingdingshan Coal Mine, less than half a month after commissioning, Chen Bin demonstrated repeatedly the process parameters and performance. Through field simulation of key equipment, it was found that there were defects in the design of atomizing nozzle in desulfurization tower. Needless to say, when he was the project manager, he organized a professional team to modify it immediately, and contacted the manufacturer to redesign it as soon as possible. Finally, the project test run was successful.

On June 28, China Chemical Engineering Group Co., Ltd. held the "Two Excellences, One First" commendation conference. Chen Bin was awarded the honorary title of "Excellent Communist Party Members". In his exchange speech, he said: "Although we as such ordinary builders are far from being called heroes, we still need to demand ourselves with high standards, pioneers in the bid, in the retrospect of history, draw on the power of progress, and put the initiative and mission into practice." Carved in the heart... He is also an "outstanding Communist Party member of the Central Enterprise" commended by the SASAC.
