27 Coal Enterprises Top 500 in China in 2019

On September 1, the China Enterprise Federation and the China Entrepreneur Association released the list of the top 500 Chinese enterprises in 2019. China Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd., China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group Co., Ltd. and State Grid Co., Ltd. ranked the top three.
The scale of the top 500 Chinese enterprises in 2019 continues to grow. According to the specific data, the total revenue of the top 500 enterprises is 79.10 trillion yuan, which is 11.14% higher than the previous year, and the total assets is 299.15 trillion yuan, which is 9.08% higher than the previous year. Among them, the number of "100 billion club enterprises" continues to increase, with 194 enterprises operating revenue exceeding 100 billion yuan. The total profit of the top 500 enterprises reached 4486.425 billion yuan, an increase of 20.7% over that of the top 500 companies last year. The net assets profit margin, per capita operating income and per capita net profit all rose steadily. The data show that among the top 500 enterprises this year, R&D investment and R&D intensity continue to increase, and the number of patents and invention patents continue to increase, especially the proportion of invention patents has increased by 6 consecutive times. From the perspective of enterprise tax burden, the comprehensive tax burden (tax amount/business income) of the top 500 enterprises this year is 5.12%. Since 2016, this figure has realized "three consecutive falls".
Looking from the industry in which the enterprises in this year's ranking are located, the group of large enterprises in China is steadily advancing towards the middle and high end of the industrial chain. This year, the number of financial industry enterprises in the top 500 enterprises increased by 8. Among them, banks and non-bank financial institutions developed synchronously, and the modern financial support system serving the real economy became more perfect. At the same time, advanced equipment manufacturing enterprises have made remarkable achievements, including power and electrical equipment manufacturing, wind and solar energy equipment manufacturing, computer and office equipment manufacturing, communication equipment manufacturing, semiconductor, integrated circuit and panel manufacturing.
There are 27 coal enterprises on the list, three more than last year, with a total revenue of 3.85 trillion yuan. Among them, five coal enterprises of State Energy Group, Shandong Energy Group, Shaanxi Coal Group, Yanzhou Mining Group and Jizhong Energy Group have business income of more than 200 billion yuan, ranking in the top 100 of the list, and five enterprises only ranked Yanzhou Mining Group in the overall list, while the rest declined; 14 enterprises have business income of more than 100 billion yuan, a decrease from last year. Of the 27 listed coal enterprises, only 7 ranked higher than last year, while the rest declined, of which 23 ranked among the top 50 coal enterprises in 2019.
