Cold wave causes the wholesale price of Shouguang vegetables in Shandong
According to the reporter from Shouguang, the hometown of vegetables, Shandong Province, on the 27th, the cold wave weather led to a slight increase in the wholesale price of Shouguang vegetables. Among the 10 major vegetable categories monitored this week, 8 categories of indexes rose and 2 categories fell. However, the market is still abundant. Sui Yumei, head of the price index center of Shouguang agricultural products logistics park, said that affected by the strong cold air, Shandong Province began to usher in a cold wave weather process on the 24th, and the cooling range in most areas was more than 10 ℃. Affected by this, the growth cycle of vegetables will be prolonged, the yield of some vegetables will be significantly reduced, and the price of vegetables will rise with the trend. It is reported that among the top 10 vegetable category indexes monitored, melon and vegetable, cabbage, solanaceous fruit and bean are the categories with significant increase, with a month on month increase of 18.4%, 14.5%, 10.6% and 8.0% respectively. Specifically, balsam pear, cherry tomato, cauliflower and other cauliflower rose in the first place, with a month on month increase of more than 30%. According to the analysis of Sui Yumei, with the continuous increase of Southern vegetables entering the market, the increase of transportation, packaging and other costs also led to the increase of vegetable prices. In addition, after winter, the vegetable supply in the northern region has been unable to be self-sufficient, and the increase in the number of customers also plays a certain role in boosting the price of vegetables. In terms of supply, the mode of "south to North food transportation" has been further revealed in recent years. The market transaction is slightly busy, the total supply of vegetables continues to increase, and the supply is relatively sufficient.
