ANRPC: Global natural rubber production slightly increased in July

ECHEMI 2022-08-23

Recently, the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) released its July report. The agency predicts that global natural rubber production in July increased by 3.9% to 1.283 million tons, an increase of 15.5% from the previous month; natural rubber consumption increased by 8% to 1.266 million tons, an increase of 5.1% from the previous month. The actual situation needs to be verified through customs data in the following months.

ANRPC also updated its full-year forecast for 2022. In 2022, global natural rubber production is expected to increase by 3% year-on-year to 14.55 million tons. Among them, Thailand increased by 1.5%, Indonesia increased by 2.9%, China increased by 1.8%, India increased by 12.3%, Vietnam decreased by 1.3%, and Malaysia increased by 6.5%. Global natural rubber consumption increased by 3.7% year-on-year to 14.972 million tons. Among them, China decreased by 1.2%, India increased by 2.7%, Thailand increased by 44.1%, and Malaysia increased by 3.2%.

ANRPC pointed out that China's auto sales have further improved in July, and sales are expected to increase in the next few months, bringing a certain boost to the natural rubber market and making the natural rubber market recover better than expected. In addition, natural rubber exporting countries are benefiting from a relatively strong dollar, and countries can profit more in terms of exports.
