Global natural rubber production is expected to increase by 22.5% in April

ECHEMI 2021-06-01

ANRPC's latest report shows that in April 2021, global natural rubber production is expected to increase by 22.5% to 903,000 tons. Among them, Thailand increased by 26.5%, Indonesia increased by 2.8%, Vietnam increased by 100%, and Malaysia increased by 9.8%.

Global natural rubber consumption is expected to increase by 15.1% to 1.129 million tons in April. Among them, China increased by 9.2%, India increased by 915%, Thailand decreased by 2.4%, and Malaysia increased by 15.8%.

Despite the favorable fundamentals of the natural rubber industry, the futures and spot market prices fluctuated significantly compared with the previous month, showing a V-shaped trend. The global covid-19 epidemic is worrying, and many countries have implemented different levels of lockdowns in response to the epidemic. This may lead to delays in resuming economic activity due to health considerations.

In addition, since the commodity market is relatively sensitive to the global economy, urgent issues such as geopolitical tensions and trade disputes may also bring other uncertainties.
