DuPont expands production of pharmaceutical-grade silicone tubing in China
DuPont announced that it will increase the production scale of Liveo pharmaceutical-grade silicone tubing by expanding the production capacity of its East China plant. This expansion project aims to meet the demand for high-quality, high-performance biopharmaceutical pipelines in Greater China.
The pipeline is one of the products with the largest surface area in direct contact with APIs and finished drugs in the pharmaceutical process, and needs to meet strict regulatory and quality requirements. Liveo's pharmaceutical-grade silicone tubing facility in East China will implement the same quality standards as the DuPont Healthcare Industry Materials Specialized Site (HIMS) in the United States.
“We know that supply is critical in a context of high demand and tight supply,” said Eugenio Toccalino, global business director for DuPont Healthcare. “Our goal is to build and expand our supply chain to meet the needs of customers in Greater China.” In the face of global biologics production trends, the reliability and adaptability of single-use system component suppliers is more important than ever. Toccalino added, "DuPont's continued investment in Liveo is a testament to our long-term commitment to serving the healthcare industry."
In addition to the long-running HIMS facility in the U.S. and a new manufacturing facility in China, DuPont Healthcare has recently announced the opening of a second Liveo pharmaceutical-grade tubing facility in the U.S.
