Japan's Imperial Data Bank: About 6,500 goods to see price hikes in October
Japan's daily food will have a "peak price increase" in October. According tothe Asahi Shimbun on the 29th, according to the statistics of the Imperial DataBank of Japan, there will be about 6,500 kinds of goods price increase inOctober. There are calculations show that, due to the price increase of manygoods in Japan, household spending budget will increase by 68,760 yen per year (about3419 yuan).
It isreported that Japan's Asahi, Kirin, Suntory and Sapporo beer will raise theex-factory prices of beer-based beverages from October 1 due to the rise inprices of raw materials such as malt and corn, as well as packaging materials suchas aluminum cans and cartons. The report said that this is the four beercompanies after 14 years, to raise the price of canned beer. In addition, cola,black tea and other beverages will also raise prices in October. Japan's Meijiand Morinaga Dairy, on the other hand, raised their suggested retail prices forcheese by 4.8%-15.5%. The two dairies had already raised cheese prices in Aprilthis year. On the food and beverage front, two Japanese sushi revolving chains,Sushiro and Zou Sushi, will stop offering "100 yen per plate ofsushi", a service they have maintained since 1984, starting in October."The former will raise its price to 120 yen per plate, while the latterwill raise its price to 115 yen per plate.
Some commentators say that although the price increase for each item is only a fewdays, it adds up to a considerable burden on family life.
