Nature:
Ammonium polyacrylate is an organic polymer compound. It is a white to light yellow amorphous powder that is soluble in water. The following are some important properties of ammonium polyacrylate:
​1. Ammonium polyacrylate has good water solubility, can be quickly dissolved in water, and exists in the form of dissociation. Its aqueous solution is a viscous gel with high viscosity.
​2. Ammonium polyacrylate has good flame retardant properties and can be used as a flame retardant. It can effectively reduce the speed of flame spread when the object is burning, and also inhibit the production of smoke.
​3. Ammonium polyacrylate is stable under neutral or alkaline conditions, but easy to hydrolyze under acidic conditions. When ammonium polyacrylate encounters acidic media, it will decompose into polyacrylic acid and ammonium salt.
​4. Ammonium polyacrylate has good adsorption properties and can be used as an adsorption material. It can adsorb and remove heavy metal ions, organic matter and other pollutants in water.
