β-Amyloid (1-42),(rat/mouse)

High Purity Amyloid Beta 1-42 (Aβ1-42) & Pre-formed Aβ Oligomers are core research peptides for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) studies. AD is the most prevalent neurodegenerative disorder, affecting around 10% of people over 60. Amyloid-β (Aβ) is a 39–43 amino-acid peptide cleaved from amyloid precursor protein (APP) via β- and γ-secretases, secreted into blood, cerebrospinal fluid and brain interstitial fluid.

The two major endogenous isoforms are Aβ1-40 and Aβ1-42. Though Aβ1-40 is 10 times more abundant in CSF and 1.5 times higher in plasma, Aβ1-42 exhibits stronger neurotoxicity and higher aggregation tendency. It forms the core of amyloid plaques in AD patient brains and triggers neuronal damage. Our HPLC-purified Aβ1-42 and ready-to-use Aβ oligomers support mechanism research, drug screening and cell-based AD modeling.
