Austrian supermarkets remove toxic pumpkin seed oil

foodmate 2022-12-15

"Wolferner Pumpkin Seed Oil" from Upper Austria must now be stopped in supermarkets due to its harmful ingredients. The harmful substances in it exceed the regulations, therefore, products with a best before date of 10/01/2023 are assessed as harmful and unsafe and banned from the market. The product is not suitable for consumption and can be returned by the consumer. The customer will refund the purchase price. Only batches with the best before date mentioned above are affected. Wolferner pumpkin seed oil can be obtained directly from producers and sold in locations such as Interspar, Billa, ADEG and Lagerhaus. The company involved stressed that the harm was not necessarily caused by his company, that the cultivation of oil pumpkins was only part of agriculture, and that the grains were roasted and pressed by outside companies.
