2020 China's titanium dioxide production/type proportion

According to the latest statistics from the Titanium Dioxide Sub-center and the Secretariat of the Titanium Dioxide Alliance, in 2020, all 42 full-process enterprises across the country The comprehensive output of various types of titanium dioxide and related products of titanium dioxide manufacturers was 3.512 million tons, an increase of 330,000 tons over the previous year, an increase of 10.39%.

According to Bi Sheng, director of the titanium dioxide branch and secretary-general of the alliance, of the total output of 3.512 million tons, rutile titanium dioxide is 2.856 million tons, accounting for 81.31%; anatase titanium dioxide is 538,000 tons, accounting for 15.33%; non-pigment grade titanium dioxide is 60 thousand tons, accounting for 1.71%; catalytic and functional material titanium dioxide is 58,000 tons, accounting for 1.65%.

Bi Sheng told reporters that in 2020, the national chloride production of titanium dioxide reached nearly 320,000 tons, a historical record of "double breakthrough". The comprehensive output of chlorinated titanium dioxide of the four chlorinated titanium dioxide enterprises in the country was 318,900 tons, accounting for 9.1% of the total output of titanium dioxide in the country that year; accounting for 11.68% of the output of rutile titanium dioxide that year.

Bi Sheng pointed out that the output of chlorinated titanium dioxide in 2020 exceeded the 300,000 tons mark for the first time in history; it was also the first time in history that the proportion of rutile titanium dioxide in the output exceeded 10%.
