Nufarm launches SureGuard Xtra herbicide (Flumioxazin + Pyroxasulfone) in the United States
Nufarm recently announced the launch in the United States of its dual-action SureGuard® Xtra herbicide, which includes the SureGuard SC (Flumioxazin) herbicide and Pyroxasulfone, providing two modes of action to manage weed resistance and achieve a powerful killing effect through more durable broad-spectrum weed control.
SureGuard Xtra has a wide application window and can be used in the spring, summer or fall to control weeds up to 2 inches in height, while extending pre-crop residual control for up to 8 months with a single, easy-to-use application dose, saving the applicator time and cost of reapplication. Nufarm explains that SureGuard Xtra builds on SureGuard SC and provides excellent weed control for nursery ornamentals.
SureGuard Xtra is highly effective against grass weeds, broadleaf weeds and water centipedes. It is suitable for more than 57 species of resistant ornamentals, as well as field and container-grown conifers (including Christmas trees), deciduous trees and fruitless fruit and nut trees. For lawn care and garden operations, SureGuard Xtra is highly effective in the control of grasses and broadleaf weeds and can be used to control residual weeds around bare ground, hard landscape areas, landscaped flower beds and established woody landscape ornamentals.
Subject to EPA approval, SureGuard Xtra will be available in December of this year in states where it has been registered.
