Corteva have signed agreements with Harpe to develop sustainable weed control solutions through gene editing
Harpe Bioherbicide Solutions, an agricultural technology company that delivers natural, sustainable herbicide solutions, recently announced that it has signed intellectual property licensing agreements for CRISPR-Cas9 and related gene-editing technology with Corteva and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. To further develop Harpe Bioherbicide tolerant crops.
The company continues to advance its portfolio of plant-derived natural non-selective herbicides toward commercialization. Demonstrating Harpe Bioherbicide's ability to herbicide CRISPR-Cas9 technology for crop tolerance will help meet farmers' need for a variety of differentiated herbicide herbicide solutions, while further broadening commercial application opportunities for this technology.
With the new sites and mechanisms of action, Harpe Bioherbicide Solutions will not only provide leadership in the biological herbicide market with new products, but will also be able to enhance the expanding conventional herbicide industry by influencing the development of products. Harpe Bioherbicide's products can be used as pre - and post-budding herbicides, alone or in combination with chemically synthetic herbicides to reduce the emergence of resistance and effectively combat troublesome weeds. This can increase crop yields while reducing damage to the soil and surrounding environment.
