Syngenta launches Talinor(Bicyclopyrone + Bromoxynil) in Canada to prevent resistant weeds
Syngenta Canada today announced the launch of Talinor™, a post-emergence herbicide, a liquid combination of Bicyclopyrone and Bromoxynil for spring, durum and barley applications ranging from two-leaf to six-leaf and three-tiller stages for the control of hard-to-control broad-leaved weeds, including herbicide resistant weeds.
Talinor is another addition to Syngenta's grain herbicide portfolio, with reliable control, rapid onset and a long application window for crops and weeds, resulting in the effective killing of broad-leaved weeds within a few days of application, said the head of Grain herbicide products at Syngenta Canada. It adds that the herbicide is effective the first time it is applied, allowing growers to make management decisions for the next planting season.
In Western Canada, grain growers have been battling an increasing number of resistant broad-leaved weeds, including Kochia scoparia and cleavers. Syngenta's head of technology for Western Canada says the HPPD inhibitor Bicyclopyrone will help growers prevent weed resistance. In addition, Talinor can be blended with a variety of gramineous weed herbicide barrels, including Axial® brand herbicides, for one-time control of gramineous and broadleaf weeds.
Talinor will be available for the 2024 planting season in a variety of packaging specifications for growers to choose from on demand.
