Metproxybicyclone’s generic name of Syngenta has been officially approved by the ISO
On December 22, 2023, Syngenta's racemic triketone herbicide Metproxybicyclone received official ISO approval under the development code SYN550023. The compound received provisional ISO approval in June this year.

Metproxybicyclone
Metproxybicyclone belongs to Bicyclooctane herbicides as well as Benzobicyclon and Bicyclopyrone. The diketone of Metproxybicyclone is basically the same as the diketone of bicycy-Benzobicyclon and Bicyclopyrone. The difference lies in the change of C-O and C-S bonds on the bicycy-ring.


The patent of the compound is WO2015197468 A1, applied for 2015/06/18, and itkey intermediates as shown in the following figure:
