Arkema Increases Global Pebax Elastomer Production Capacity by 40%
Arkema has increased global production capacity for Pebax elastomers by 40% at its Serquigny plant in France, where products are mainly used in the sports and consumer goods markets.
Arkema launches new Pebax elastomers unit at its Serquigny plant in France. The new unit uses the latest industrial process designs to produce the biocyclic Pebax Rnew and classic Pebax elastomer ranges.
These advanced materials are widely used in sports equipment such as running shoes, soccer shoes and ski boots, as well as in electronic equipment and other specialty markets such as antistatic additives and medical devices.
"We are excited to begin expanding our Pebax elastomers capacity. This is a great opportunity for us to meet growing demand from existing and new applications while improving our processes and water consumption on site will be reduced by approximately 25%," commented Erwoan Pezron, Senior Vice-President of Arkema's High-Performance Polymers Business Line.
