Evonik Launches New Vegan Collagen Vecollage Fortify L!
Evonik launches Vecollage Fortify L, a new vegan collagen for the beauty and personal care market that is the same type of collagen found in skin. Vecollage Fortify L leverages Evonik's capabilities in biotechnology, collagen and skin care to meet the demand for vegan collagen in product applications such as anti-aging moisturizers. By using system solutions that combine innovative products with expertise in skin biology, Evonik reveals the effects of recombinant collagen on the dermis (the middle layer of the skin).
With the launch of Vecollage Fortify L, Evonik is one step closer to producing animal-free and sustainable collagen. The breakthrough will include a variety of vegan collagens developed by Evonik together with partners and will strengthen the company's position as a well-known player in the field of biotech active ingredients. Bioactives are part of a growing portfolio of innovative biological solutions developed by the Nutrition & Care division of the company's life sciences.
Yann dHerve, head of the Care Solutions business line at Evonik, said: "The future of skincare lies in biotech-based collagen! Brand owners can now offer consumers sustainably sourced, skin-identical collagen. This truly heroic ingredient makes it clear how sustainability drives us and how collaboration defines us. "
Vecollage Fortify L was developed in partnership with Modern Meadow Inc, which specializes in fermentation-based protein development t provides dual benefits to fortfy collagen in the skin by preventing age-related degradation and stimulating theskin's own collagen production.
