Westlake to launch new Lower Yellowing epoxy resin products at ACS 2024
Westlake Corporation announced today that Westlake Epoxy will introduce a variety of new Lower Yellowing Epoxy Resin products at the 2024 American Paint Show, taking place April 30-May 2, 2024 in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
The deep pour Lower Yellowing Epoxy system is a combination of epoxy research resin RSL-4710 and research hardener RSC-4731. This two-component epoxy/amine system is formulated to extend set times and reduce exothermic temperatures. This system provides superior air release and better color retention, even in direct sunlight.
"Deep Pour Lower Yellowing Epoxy systems are easier to use and can achieve up to 4 inches of pour in a single application," said Dan Weinmann, Epoxy Business Development Manager, Americas. "This system uses no additives to improve yellowing resistance. The combination of resin and curing agent improves the photostability of the cured epoxy thermoset backbone."
Westlake Epoxy is also promoting an ultra-low yellowing cycloaliphatic amine curing agent for decorative floor coatings. Curing Agent RSC-4729 provides excellent yellowing resistance and improved gloss retention when used with standard Bis-A or Bis-F epoxy resins.
