Clariant sells real estate "Industrial Park Fechenheim" for €95 million

ECHEMI 2024-09-18

Clariant, a specialty chemicals company focused on sustainability, announced today that it has reached an agreement to sell its real estate "Industrial Park Fechenheim" in Frankfurt, Germany, to the Lugman Group, a Frankfurt-based family office specializing in real estate, for €95 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in 2025.

Clariant currently expects a book gain of approximately CHF 70 million, which will be included in the company's EBITDA as an exceptional item at closing. Clariant intends to use the cash proceeds to reduce debt and strengthen its balance sheet, demonstrating the company's commitment to maintaining its investment-grade credit rating.

The industrial park is located in the east of Frankfurt and covers an area of approximately 428,000 square meters. Clariant does not have any operating activities at the "Industrial Park Fechenheim".
