Cargill increases the supply of specialty tapioca starch in the Asia-Pacific region
Cargill has reached a partnership with Thai tapioca producer Starpro to expand its supply of specialty tapioca starch products in the Asia-Pacific region. The cooperation agreement includes modified tapioca starch produced locally by Starpro.
Cargill said, “Tapioca starch has unique texture characteristics, such as chewiness, elasticity and refreshing taste, which help food manufacturers meet the expectations of Asian consumers for their products.”
This cooperation is Cargill's latest move to develop its specialty starch products in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to this, Cargill also announced the expansion of its cold-water swelling starch production line at its sweetener plant in Pandaan, Indonesia, and the construction of a modified starch production plant in Songyuan City, Jilin Province, China.
