Kemira increases production capacity of Korean polymer powder and Nanjing sizing agent

Recently, Kemira announced that it will further increase its production capacity in Asia, opening a new plant for the production of polymer dry powder in Ulsan, South Korea, and plans to further expand the sizing agent production capacity of the Nanjing plant.

This investment is an important part of Kemira’s growth strategy, which reflects Kemira’s firm commitment to the growing customer base of paper and cardboard in the Asia-Pacific region, and supports the growth of Kemira’s water treatment business in the Asia-Pacific region. At present, most of the new production capacity of all paper products in the world is built in China and the Asia-Pacific region.

The newly-built production capacity has improved the local and global supply capacity of Kemira's high-quality polymer dry powder, and promoted the development of the company's paper pulping and water treatment business in the Asia-Pacific region. Kemira will start the early stage of the project to expand the production capacity of the Nanjing sizing agent production base in China, with an investment of approximately several million U.S. dollars. ASA sizing agent (alkenyl succinic anhydride) is mainly used to improve the water resistance of paper and packaging board.
