Azelis Acquires S. Amit Group in India
Azelis has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the business of S. Amit Group, a Mumbai-based distributor of performance chemicals for the pharmaceutical, agricultural and CASE markets in India.
Customers will benefit from a broader product portfolio and technical expertise. In addition to expanding distribution channels, principals will benefit from Azelis' ability to leverage its expanded portfolio to create more formulations and develop new applications for its products. The acquisition strengthens Azelis' market presence in India and is in line with the Group's strategy to consolidate its position as an industry benchmark in key end markets.
S. Amit has cross-industry expertise and products, including raw materials for active pharmaceutical ingredients and agricultural active ingredients, that complement Azelis' horizontal value chain in the Indian market. Combining its dynamic sales model and logistics expertise with Azelis's innovation capabilities will strengthen Azelis' presence in India.
The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions. Amit Mehta, Founder and Promoter of S.Amit Group, said: “For over seven decades, we have been committed to growing our business through differentiation and creating value for our customers and suppliers. We are delighted to join Azelis, a well-recognized innovative service provider. This marks a major milestone for S. Amit Group and we are confident that it will open doors to new opportunities and provide a stronger portfolio of solutions to our clients.”
Sertaç Sürür, CEO, Asia Pacific, Azelis said: “This acquisition will open new opportunities and strengthen our position in the thriving domestic Indian market. The complementary value proposition of S. Amit Group and the capabilities of Azelis will enable us to create greater value for our customers and principals. We look forward to working together to create innovative solutions to meet today’s evolving needs.”
