Bodo Möller Chemie Acquires Specialty Chemicals Distributor Quitec
On June 1, 2025, Bodo Möller Chemie Group announced the integration of the customer base of Spanish specialty chemical distributor Química Tecnológica Norte SL (Quitec) into its own distribution network. This acquisition not only strengthens Bodo Möller Chemie’s presence in the Spanish market but also deepens its long-standing strategic partnership with Henkel in the field of industrial surface treatment.
As the demand for sustainable and process-oriented solutions continues to grow in the surface treatment industry, Bodo Möller Chemie is actively enhancing its regional footprint and local operational capabilities. The integration of Quitec’s customer network marks a key step in expanding the company's influence in this sector. Headquartered in San Sebastián, Quitec has long focused on the distribution of specialty chemicals for industrial applications, including industrial cleaners and metal pretreatment products. These solutions support key processes in coating, degreasing systems, and metal surface treatment. Among the products distributed is Henkel’s Bonderite brand, known for its comprehensive process optimization solutions across cleaning, corrosion protection, and maintenance—highly regarded throughout the industry.
This acquisition not only extends Bodo Möller Chemie’s customer reach but also includes the transfer of established client relationships. The company plans to build on these existing partnerships, strengthening them through its technical expertise and customized service offerings. As Lionel Breuilly, Managing Director of Bodo Möller Chemie Spain, noted: “Quitec has been a trusted partner in the market with excellent customer retention. We are committed not only to maintaining this retention but also to strategically enhancing it through our technical strengths.”
This move is part of Bodo Möller Chemie’s broader global expansion strategy. The company remains dedicated to leveraging regional advantages, brand power, and application know-how to deliver tailored solutions that meet customers' specific needs. With this acquisition, the Group further solidifies its presence in northern Spain—a region with significant industrial growth potential—and lays a strong foundation for future development.
Frank Haug, CEO of Bodo Möller Chemie Group, stated: “This acquisition brings us even closer to our customers and further reinforces our collaboration with Henkel. With the innovative and sustainable solutions offered by Bonderite, we are well-positioned to deliver impressive, fully integrated solutions that combine product quality with application expertise—creating lasting value for our clients.”
