Avery Dennison to Acquire Meridian’s Flooring Adhesives Business for $390 Million
On August 25, Avery Dennison – a global materials science and labeling solutions leader – announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Meridian Adhesives Group’s flooring adhesives business in the U.S. for $390 million . Meridian’s flooring adhesives unit is a leading producer of specialty floor adhesives and coatings in the U.S., expected to generate about $110 million in revenue in 2025 . It operates four manufacturing plants (based in Dalton, Georgia) with approximately 110 employees, and is known for its strong product quality, customer relationships, and innovation in flooring installation materials . Avery Dennison’s CEO Deon Stander stated that the acquisition will expand the company’s presence in high-value adhesive solutions, leveraging Avery’s material science capabilities to strengthen its specialty adhesives portfolio . Once the deal closes (anticipated in Q4 2025), Meridian’s flooring adhesives business will become part of Avery Dennison’s Materials Group, adding well-known brands like Taylor Adhesives, Polycom, and Frontier Products to Avery’s lineup. This move aligns with Avery Dennison’s strategy of growth through a mix of organic development and acquisitions, and is expected to provide synergy in technology and market access in the building and construction adhesives segment.
