This Week's Activated Carbon Prices Remain Stable (9.15-9.19) in China
September 19, news
According to the commodity market analysis system: At the beginning of the week, the price of activated carbon in China was 12,933 CNY/ton, and at the end of the week, the price of activated carbon in China was 12,933 CNY/ton, with the price remaining stable.
Chinese activated carbon manufacturer prices remained stable this week. The factory price of coconut shell activated carbon for water purification in East China is between 9,500 and 13,000 CNY per ton. Currently, the supply of coconut shells remains tight, and the demand for coconut shells from new energy battery porous carbon materials is increasing. High prices are limiting downstream purchasing enthusiasm, and the market is experiencing sluggish sales.
From the supply side, major coconut-producing regions in Southeast Asia have been hit by natural disasters, leading to reduced yields. As a result, Chinese companies with high import dependency are facing rising costs. Additionally, coconut production in countries like the Philippines and Indonesia has also been affected, further tightening the supply of coconut shell raw materials. Meanwhile, growing demand for coconut shell-based activated carbon—particularly in sectors such as new energy batteries and gold extraction—is helping to sustain prices at elevated levels.
Prediction: With high market prices in China and lower-than-expected transactions, it is anticipated that activated carbon prices may mainly fluctuate in the short term.
