Soaring 130%! This sector is expected to catch the 'new energy' express train!
When the market opened on August 16, the titanium dioxide sector drove higher and rose by about 1.13% as of press time. It is worth noting that the titanium dioxide sector index has been in a bull market since February last year, and the sector has risen by nearly 130% so far. And after many titanium dioxide companies deploy new energy industries, the titanium dioxide sector is expected to catch the "new energy" express train and continue to rise.
Last week, many companies in the titanium dioxide market sent letters to increase the price. Under the leadership of Longbai, more than ten titanium dioxide companies have issued price increase letters with the increase range of 800-1000 CNY/ton. The actual implementation remains to be seen. At present, the domestic mainstream ex-factory prices are 17500-21100 CNY/ton for Rutile, 16000-18500 CNY/ton for anatase, and 21000-23200 CNY/ton for chlorination.
Price increase of major companies
Judging from the price increase letters issued by various companies, the domestic sales price of this round of titanium dioxide increased by 800 CNY/ton to 1,500 CNY/ton, and the foreign sales price increased by US$120/ton to US$200/ton.
The domestic sales price of Tihai Technology and Shanghai Pengbo increased the most to 1,500 CNY/ton. The leading titanium dioxide company Longbai Group (34.260, -2.16, -5.93%) announced that starting from August 10, the company's sales price of various types of titanium dioxide will be raised by US$200/ton to downstream customers on the basis of the original price. This price increase is the seventh price increase of Longbai Group this year.
China Nuclear Titanium Dioxide announced that from August 11, on the basis of the existing titanium dioxide sales price, the company's various types of titanium dioxide sales prices will be raised. Among them, the sales price for domestic customers is increased by 1,000 CNY/ton, and the export price for international customers is increased by US$200/ton. China Nuclear Titanium Dioxide (18.520, -0.72, -3.74%) has raised product prices six times during the year. The domestic sales price has increased by 5,500 CNY/ton, and the foreign sales price has increased by 930 US dollars/ton.
Changes in the titanium dioxide market in mainstream regions
The Shandong market rose individually this week. Jinhai Titanium issued a price increase letter to increase by 1,000 CNY/ton. The specific implementation price remains to be seen. Other manufacturers also intend to adjust prices. The installations of individual manufacturers in the zone are overhauled and are expected to resume this weekend. At present, Shandong manufacturers offer at 18300-20000 CNY/ton.
The Central China market increased this week by Dragon Enterprise. Longbai Group issued a price increase letter, and all grades of titanium dioxide were increased by US$200/ton. The current implementation price for domestic agents has not yet been determined, and there may be exact news this evening. Other manufacturers are also interested in following up and adjusting prices. Currently, manufacturers in Central China are quoting RMB 19,500-21,100/ton.
The East China market rose overall this week. China National Nuclear Corporation, Gimpo, Anada (19.040, -1.82, -8.72%), Zhentai issued a price increase letter and raised it by 1,000 CNY/ton. At present, individual manufacturers have not yet determined the execution price for agents. Manufacturers in East China currently offer RMB 19,000-21,000/ton.
Some manufacturers in the Southwest market sent a letter this week to adjust the price. Titanium Sea, Zhengyuan Technology, Haifengxin, and Kunming Donghao issued a price increase letter, raising the price by 1,000-1,500 CNY/ton. Some have begun to implement the new price, and some have not yet determined the new price after the increase. The actual market transaction situation remains to be seen. The price of titanium dioxide manufacturers in the southwest market is 17800-21100 CNY/ton; anatase is 16000-18000 CNY/ton. The South China market rose individually this week. Guangdong Huiyun sent a letter to increase the price by 1,000 CNY/ton, and other manufacturers have not adjusted it yet. Due to power curtailment in Guangxi, many titanium dioxide companies have cut production and supply is tight.
On the whole, the supply side of the titanium dioxide market decreased slightly due to the maintenance of Shandong manufacturers. After the demand side increases this week, major manufacturers will also stimulate downstream and distributors to start to consider stocking, and manufacturers' export orders will also increase.
In terms of costs, both titanium ore and Sulfuric Acid have risen, and the cost of titanium dioxide materials has increased. The supply decreased slightly this week, and the maintenance manufacturers will resume at the weekend. The demand side has not improved significantly at the moment, and the increase of manufacturers may stimulate downstream stocking. At present, most price adjustment manufacturers have not yet determined the latest execution price. It is expected that the results will be available within this week. Other manufacturers also have the intention to follow up the price adjustment. It is expected that the focus of the titanium dioxide market will move up next week.
Many titanium dioxide companies deploy new energy industries
On the evening of August 12, Longbai Group issued four investment announcements in a row, three of which were related to the Lithium battery industry chain. Specifically, Longbai Group plans to invest 2 billion yuan to build 200,000 tons of lithium battery material industrialization projects, and 1.2 billion yuan to build 200,000 tons of battery material grade iron phosphate projects; plans to invest 1.5 billion yuan in construction years Production of 100,000 tons of artificial graphite anode materials for lithium batteries.
Ananda previously announced that in view of the future development prospects of the lithium iron phosphate market and the comprehensive comparative advantages of its holding subsidiary Tongling Nayuan in terms of technology and cost, in order to further improve scale efficiency and profitability, Tongling Nayuan will increase its existing iron phosphate The production facility will be expanded to a 50kt/a battery-grade nano-iron phosphate production facility in two phases.
At the beginning of this year, China Nuclear Titanium Dioxide plans to invest 12.108 billion yuan to build a lithium iron phosphate project with an annual output of 500,000 tons in three phases, mainly to build a lithium iron phosphate production line and supporting facilities, and cross-border into the lithium iron phosphate field. In August, CNNC Titanium Dioxide stated that the company’s lithium iron phosphate project is undergoing environmental assessment publicity and land use rights processing. After the procedures are completed, it will start construction according to the project design plan.
Titanium dioxide enterprises have natural advantages in the production of lithium iron phosphate across borders. Waste acid, ferrous sulfate and other waste materials will be generated during the production of titanium dioxide. After further processing, lithium iron phosphate can be made.
According to reports, industry insiders analyzed that the construction of a lithium iron phosphate production line can realize the efficient and value-added utilization of waste acid wastewater from titanium dioxide enterprises, and can also effectively reduce the manufacturing cost of titanium dioxide, realize the efficient and value-added utilization of ferrous sulfate, and extend the circular economy industry chain , To realize the green circular economy of comprehensive utilization of resources.
