Prepackaged Food Safety? Procuratorate launches special action

In recent years, there are more and more fruit supermarkets around us. When you buy fruit, you will bring some dried fruit milk. But do you know, these pre-packaged food safety? Recently, Lucheng Procuratorate launched a special food safety action, and there are still many problems to be solved.

A few months ago, when the prosecutor of Lucheng Procuratorate brushed his circle of friends, he found that two friends living in different provinces had bought expired pre-packaged food in fruit stores. To this end, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Lucheng Procuratorate organized special classes to supervise public interest litigation activities in large-scale farmers'markets, hospitals, schools and other surrounding fruit stores in dense residential areas. The case team visited and investigated more than 60 fruit stores in the whole region, and found that 4 fruit stores were selling expired food, one of which sold pre-packaged food without labels or with unqualified labels; another 7 stores sold pre-packaged food without food production and operation registration certificates.

The court initiated the pre-litigation procedure of administrative public interest litigation in accordance with the law, and urged the market supervision department to investigate and punish relevant illegal acts in accordance with the law and in a timely manner. After receiving the procuratorial proposal, the market supervision department immediately organizes law enforcement officers to investigate and verify it, and then investigates and prosecutes the 11 fruit stores mentioned above according to law. At the same time, we carried out a "special inspection of the operation of fruit stores in the whole region". Up to the end of March this year, 258 fruit stores were inspected and 13 were ordered to rectify.
