Givaudan’s January-September performance released: Daily chemical flavors, fragrances and beauty: clothing care, personal care sub-businesses have the fastest growth

On October 12, Givaudan released the performance data for January-September 2021 on its official website.

 

In the first nine months of 2021, Givaudan’s sales were 5.067 billion Swiss francs, an increase of 7.7% year-on-year, and an increase of 5.8% in Swiss francs.

 

The sales of fragrances, fragrances and beauty products were 2.351 billion Swiss francs, an increase of 8.4% year-on-year, and an increase of 6.9% in Swiss francs.

 

Taste and health sales were 2.716 billion Swiss francs, an increase of 7.2% year-on-year, and an increase of 4.8% in Swiss francs.

 

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a global impact, Givaudan has maintained a good business momentum while maintaining its operations and global supply chain at a high level. All product segments and regions achieved strong growth. Mature markets grew by 6.6% year-on-year, and high-growth markets grew by 9.2% year-on-year.

 

During the reporting period, Givaudan’s Taste & Wellbeing business (Taste & Wellbeing) sales reached 2.716 billion Swiss francs, an increase of 7.2% after excluding changes, and an increase of 4.8% in Swiss francs.

 

From the perspective of the product sector, sales of beverages, savoury foods and snacks led the increase.

 

From January to September, the sales of Givaudan Fragrance & Beauty business (Fragrance & Beauty) were 2.351 billion Swiss francs, an increase of 8.4% after excluding changes, and an increase of 6.9% in Swiss francs.

 

The sales growth of this business in Asia was mainly driven by local and regional customers, with the Chinese market achieving strong double-digit growth. As far as the product sector is concerned, the clothing care sub-business has contributed the most to the sales growth, followed by the personal care sub-business.

 

Sales in all product segments and regional markets have increased. After excluding changes, mature markets grew by 6.6%, while high-growth markets grew by 9.2%. Among them, China and Malaysia both achieved double-digit growth, followed by Indonesia and Vietnam also achieved single-digit growth.

 

If you look only at the third quarter from June to September, Givaudan achieved sales of 1.694 billion Swiss francs, an increase of 8.0%. Among them, the fragrance and beauty business accounted for 787 million, an increase of 6.0%; the taste and health business accounted for 907 million, an increase of 9.8%, an increase much higher than the 4.8% in January-September, indicating that the pace of recovery of the business has accelerated.
