In November, China's Natural Rubber Imports Rose Sharply

ECHEMI 2021-12-29

In November 2021, the import volume of natural rubber was 543,700 tons, with a sequential increase of 30.09% and a year-on-year decrease of 6.04%, including 243,800 tons of standard rubber, 294,500 tons of mixed rubber and 5,400 tons of composite rubber. From January to November 2021, the total import volume was 4.8652 million tons, down 8.44% year on year. In November, China's natural rubber imports rose month-on-month in line with seasonal rules, but exceeded market expectations.

In terms of the import volume of various rubber varieties, the import of mixed rubber in November was 294,500 tons, up 86,100 tons, or 41.29%. China's blended rubber imports were mainly from Vietnam (165,600 tons, up 61.91%) and Thailand (89,600 tons, up 10.54%). Breaking down the import source countries, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand increased significantly. In Thailand, the increase was mainly in natural rubber latex (46,600 tons, up 40.09%), standard rubber (75,700 tons, up 25.04%), followed by mixed rubber; The increase in Vietnam and Malaysia (27,100 tons, up 78.25%) is mainly in the mixing of rubber.

In November, the weather was fair, the output of raw materials was normal, and the production enthusiasm of the processing plant was good. The shipment time of finished products to China was normal, and the import volume increased greatly. The frequent rainfall in southern Thailand in November hindered rubber farmers from cutting rubber, and the output of raw materials was less than expected. In addition, affected by the shortage of cabinets and the surge of sea freight, the shipping date from Thailand to China was seriously delayed, and the arrival situation was less than expected, and the import volume increased less.

In December, Vietnam is still in a prosperous period of production, raw material output is good, factory processing is positive, domestic traders are still active in purchasing, it is expected that the import volume from Vietnam in December rose slightly; In Thailand, the rainfall in December improved compared with That in November, and the output of raw materials increased compared with the previous period, but the uncertainty caused by delayed shipment still remained. In addition, domestic Inventory in Qingdao, the first three weeks of December, compared with November, there was no significant change in the rate, overall, it is expected that China's natural rubber imports in December is less likely to increase or decrease substantially, or a small adjustment.
