Zhenhai Refinery's Polybutene-1 Industrial Demonstration Plant Produces Qualified Products

On February 8, Sinopec's "Ten-train" research project, the thousand-ton high-grade polybutene-1 industrial demonstration plant, produced qualified products and achieved stable operation, marking that Zhenhai Refinery has made great achievements in the field of high-end synthetic new materials.

Relying on the abundant 1-butene resources of Zhenhai Refinery, the project has built the first domestic self-developed solution-process polyolefin process unit, filling the domestic technological gap.

Since there is no experience of the same type of device to learn from, the device has encountered bottlenecks such as difficulty in processing polyolefin solutions and a narrow operating window for the device process since it opened up the whole process. The project team took the initiative to take the initiative to overcome difficulties, collect data, accumulate experience, and work with experts from Beijing Chemical Industry Research Institute and Sinopec Ningbo New Materials Research Institute to promote the start-up plan and process optimization, improve the catalyst injection process, and produce high-quality products for the device. During the Spring Festival, the project team fought continuously, gave full play to the advantages of the Industry-University-Research Corps, completed various preparations, and finally achieved continuous and stable operation.
