Three-hand smoke can damage cell DNA and mitochondrial. A randomized clinical study conducted by University of California at Riverside of America shows that the harm of three hand smoke can not be ignored. It will change the gene expression of human nasal epithelial cells and further damage these cells. The so-called "three hand smoke" efers to tobacco residues left by smokers after clothing, hair, skin surface and surrounding environment after smoking. These residues will remain in the air for days or even months and are passively inhaled by non-smokers. If a smoker exists in a person's living environment, it is very difficult for him to avoid touching three hands altogether. In real life, such passive smoking is more common than second-hand smoking. The study found that nonsmokers had a significant change in the gene expression of their nasal epithelial cells as long as they inhaled three hands of cigarettes for 3 hours. Three harmful residues in hand smoke can alter cellular pathways associated with oxidative stress and damage DNA. The potential long-term consequences are likely to be cancer. Researchers say that although 3 hours of three hand smoke exposure is basically not likely to cause cancer, if a person lives in a three hand smoke environment for a long time, his health will be seriously affected. In addition, researchers also found that exposure to short time three hand smoke could also affect mitochondria, which could lead to cell death if not controlled. Researchers said that many people do not know what three hand smoke is, ignoring the harm of such passive smoking. Some people think that smoking outside the house will not affect their families, but in fact, the harmful residues on their clothes will still be brought home, affecting their families' health. Three hand smoke has potential hazards to health and can not be ignored.
