Hebei liberalizes the scope of practicing traditional Chinese medicine

On August 14, Hebei Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Health Commission jointly issued a joint announcement that doctors of non-traditional Chinese medicine categories who have been assessed by their licensed institutions and confirmed that the professional skills of traditional Chinese medicine have reached the corresponding level can provide Chinese patent medicine, Chinese medicine preparations in medical institutions and traditional Chinese medicine in clinical work. Appropriate technology, Chinese herbal pieces and other four categories of traditional Chinese medicine services.

Provisions of the province stipulate that non-traditional Chinese medicine practitioners obtain the qualification of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners or the qualification certificate of traditional Chinese medicine (expertise) physicians. After examination by the main practicing institutions, they confirm that the professional technology of traditional Chinese medicine has reached the corresponding level, and fill in "Hebei non-traditional Chinese medicine practitioners provide traditional Chinese medicine services". The registration form, after approval of the registration of the competent department of traditional Chinese medicine of the municipal and county health committees (bureaus) practicing the institution (registration of municipal and provincial medical institutions with the competent department of traditional Chinese medicine at the same level), can provide corresponding services of traditional Chinese medicine in clinical work. The consent of the record-keeping practicing institution shall be obtained if it intends to provide corresponding services of traditional Chinese medicine at the same time.

The province clearly states that non-traditional Chinese medicine practitioners have one of the four situations in which they can provide Chinese medicine services: one is to obtain the qualifications of Chinese medicine practicing assistant physicians; the other is to obtain the professional qualifications or degrees of Chinese medicine and integrated traditional and Western medicine approved by the administrative departments of education at or above the provincial level; and the third is to obtain the qualifications of Chinese medicine practicing assistant physicians. "Certificate of Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor Check-out" issued by the Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine) is to attend and obtain corresponding certificates for more than two years of training courses in Western medicine (total number of hours is not less than 850 hours) approved by the Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine). The province has proposed that non-traditional Chinese medicine practitioners can provide three kinds of traditional Chinese medicine services in clinical work, such as Chinese patent medicine, traditional Chinese medicine preparations in medical institutions and appropriate technology of traditional Chinese medicine, after they have systematically studied the professional knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine for not less than one year and passed the examination of the competent department of traditional Chinese medicine at or above the county level or the medical institution at or above the second level.
