Jotun introduces new wood coating products
Recently, Jotun launched the ultra one, Ultra Lite and primax excel series products, which can make engineering wood protective coated with powder. This is the first time to apply the products to natural wood. Because the temperature required for the use of powder coating will damage the material, it is impossible to achieve this process on natural wood. This breakthrough provides a new way for designers to regard wood as a feasible building material, and brings durable and environmentally friendly products into the forefront of forward-looking design. Troels flensted, a Copenhagen based designer, used ultra one in his new design, which was shown at the autumn furniture show at the Thorvaldsen Museum in Copenhagen in 2018. Frost wants to upgrade his choice of MDF materials to have monochromatic, textured and different sizes of reflections and shadows - all of which are helped by a powder coating. "Our new series of powder coatings for engineered and natural wood are versatile and innovative." Salah El Malla, Jotun's furniture marketing manager, said they provide designers with the flexibility to use wood and MDF; in addition, Jotun's products improve the efficiency of manufacturers by increasing production. "This series of products has opened up new opportunities and another market for Jotun, expanded Jotun products to a new design and protection field, and increased the scope that designers and furniture manufacturers can achieve," El Malla added, adding that the revolutionary and benefits of this new technology are not only that, it will become a kind of wood widely used to protect and beautify natural and engineering wood Method.
