Function and Efficacy

Appearance

This product is white crystalline powder.

Indication

1. Prevention and treatment of body fluid loss. For the prevention and treatment of mild and moderate fluid loss caused by diarrhea, vomiting, and loss of fluid through the skin and respiratory tract, water, potassium and sodium can be supplemented. Severe water loss requires intravenous fluid replacement. 2. Treatment of body fluid loss during diarrhea.

Usage and Dosage

1 Adults (1) Treatment of mild to moderate dehydration: ① Mild dehydration, start with 50 ml/kg, drink within 4 to 6 hours, and adjust the dose as appropriate; ② Moderate dehydration, start with 50 ml/kg, drink within 6 hours, and the rest should be given intravenous rehydration. (2) Treatment of acute diarrhea: ① Mild diarrhea, 50 ml/kg per day; ② Severe diarrhea, should be mainly intravenous drip until the diarrhea stops. 2 Children's treatment of mild dehydration, start with 50 ml/kg, take within 4 hours, until the diarrhea stops. Moderate dehydration should be mainly intravenous rehydration.

Adverse Reactions

1. Hypernatremia; 2. Excessive water intake; if the above two conditions occur, the drug should be discontinued immediately. 3. Vomiting, usually mild. It often occurs at the beginning of taking the drug, and it can be taken in small amounts in several times.

Precautions

1. Oliguria or anuria; 2. Intravenous rehydration is required in case of severe dehydration and signs of shock; 3. Severe diarrhea, with stool volume exceeding 30 ml/kg per hour, during which the patient is often unable to take enough oral rehydration salts; 4. Glucose absorption disorder; 5. Those who are unable to take oral fluids due to severe vomiting, etc.; 6. Intestinal obstruction, intestinal paralysis and intestinal perforation.
