Used as a solvent for lithium-ion battery electrolyte, and as a solvent for special fragrances and intermediates.

Chemical reaction

Methyl ethyl carbonate is a relatively stable compound, but it is easy to decompose under light, heat, acid, alkali and other conditions. The compound is an ester compound, and Chemicalbook can react with other alcohols through esterification reaction to produce corresponding esters. Due to the imbalance of methyl-ethyl in the structure of the compound, the product is unstable and not suitable for long-term storage.
