IFF merges with DuPont Nutrition: new company covers 4 major businesses
On May 11, IFF and DuPont released an update on the previously announced merger transaction between IFF and DuPont Nutrition and Biological Sciences.
It is reported that the combined new company will cover the following four business segments:
Food ingredients, food and beverages
By integrating IFF's food ingredient division (Taste) and N & B's food and beverage division, the food ingredients, food and beverage business (Taste, Food & Beverage) will bring a net worth of approximately USD 6.1 billion to the new company based on 2019 results. Sales. The IFF food ingredients product portfolio includes flavor compounds and natural food ingredient solutions, such as salty solutions and inclusions. N & B's food and beverage product portfolio includes natural and plant-based specialty food ingredients such as functional solutions, protein solutions, emulsifiers and sweeteners.
Daily flavors and fragrances
Composed of the IFF Daily Flavors and Fragrances Division (Scent), based on 2019 results, the Daily Flavors and Fragrances Division will bring about $ 2 billion in net sales to the new company. The daily flavors and fragrances product portfolio includes perfumes, consumer fragrances, cosmetic active ingredients, and natural and synthetic raw materials.
Health and Biological Sciences
Based on 2019 results, the new Health and Biosciences Division (H & B) will bring about $ 2.3 billion in net sales to the new company. This department will include N & B's current health and bioscience business, except for food protection. Food protection products will be incorporated into the new company's food ingredients, food and beverage division. The health ingredients of IFF raw materials and some natural product solutions will also be incorporated into the new health and bioscience department. The product portfolio of the New Health and Biosciences Division will include sustainable clean labels and high-performance solutions such as probiotics, infant nutrition, HMO, fiber, culture media and food enzymes, home and personal care, animal nutrition, biorefinery and microbes control.
Pharmaceutical solutions
The new company's pharmaceutical solutions division consists of N & B's existing pharmaceutical solutions business. Based on 2019 results, it will bring about $ 800 million in net sales to the new company. Its product portfolio will include N & B's leading functional supplements for medicinal and dietary supplements and industrial cellulose products. The division will also provide specific solutions such as controlled and immediate release dosage forms, soft and hard capsules, and alginate for anti-backflow.
