DuPont Organic Sales Growth
Recently, DuPont released its financial performance report for the fourth quarter and full year of 2022. 2022 DuPont net sales of $13.0 billion, up 8% from prior year, organic sales up 5% from a year ago, and EBITDA of $3.26 billion, adjusted for the full year Earnings per share were $3.41. In the fourth quarter of 2022, DuPont's net sales were US$3.1 billion, down 4% year-on-year, organic sales increased 5% year-on-year, and EBITDA was US$758 million.
DuPont Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Pu Ruiting said: "The results of the fourth quarter of last year confirmed our high-quality business portfolio and our ability to respond to the persistently challenging global macro environment by focusing on the levers within our control. Our revenue and operating EBITDA were in line with our expectations on soft conditions in certain end markets, Electronics and Construction. Our leading global market position, disciplined pricing action, and focus on execution drove this year's Sales and earnings growth, which will be critical as we navigate the ongoing global macroeconomic challenges in 2023."
Lori Koch, Chief Financial Officer of DuPont, said: "In 2023, we expect that areas such as water treatment and automotive adhesives will continue to strengthen, and industrial end markets including aerospace and medical health products will also have stable demand. It is expected that in 2023 Sales of consumer electronics and semiconductors will decline in the first half of the year, mainly due to reduced consumer spending, destocking behavior, etc. In addition, we expect the construction end market in the water treatment and protection business segment to continue to weaken in 2023."
