Corteva launches a new Beauveria biological insecticides in Brazil
Corteva’s new microbial-derived insecticide, Tezpetix Beauve, was recently unveiled at the Latin American Congress on BioControl (Siconbiol 2023) in Brazil. This product contains a unique strain of Beauveria BB 15.
Corteva expressed that the product can be used as a supplement to chemical pesticides to combat Dalbulus maidis, one of the main pests to the corn growing industry. The product is included in the integrated pest management program, which can effectively avoid the yield loss caused by leaf Chan.
In addition, the product is recommended for use on various crops where Bemisia tabaci, Dichelops melacanthus, Euschistus heros and Hypothenemus hampei occur.
In addition to the biocide, Corteva also introduced Inlayon, a biocide for soybeans and cotton, and Inlayon Eco for sugar cane to attendees who visited its booth. These products are effective against major nematodes that harm crops. Both products contain isolates of Bacillus amylolyticus SIMBI BS 10 (CCT 7600), isolated from Brazilian soil, which target a wider variety of pests and are easier to colonize on plants, Corteva said.
Cristiane Delic, Head of the Bioproducts portfolio for Brazil and Paraguay at Corteva, said: "Corteva continues to provide farmers with proven and sustainable products that complement existing crop production methods. Biologics give farmers more options to balance the use of chemical solutions to meet growing challenges in innovative and sustainable ways.
