PPG Invests US$17 million Million to Open Aerospace Application Support Center
On December 12, global coatings giant PPG announced that the company’s Aerospace Application Support Center (ASC) with an investment of US$17 million (approximately RMB 122 million) opened in Toulouse, France. The facility provides filling and packaging capabilities for aerospace materials, including coatings and sealants for a variety of aircraft, as well as technical support and laboratories. ASC Toulouse's strategic location enables the company to provide faster product delivery to aerospace customers in Southern Europe and North Africa.
"PPG is a key supplier to the aerospace industry with a range of technologically advanced products," said Francois Buehlmann, general manager, PPG EMEA Aerospace. “This new facility will significantly increase our responsiveness and customer support capabilities while enabling our unique materials to be certified earlier in the product development cycle.”
The ASC includes a laboratory for developing aerospace materials, a color matching area for paints and a spray booth for hands-on training in paint application. It also houses a fill line for touch-up color kits, a transparency checking unit, custom packaging capabilities for third-party products, chemical management resources and a customer service center. This is PPG’s 17th ASC globally.
Dan Korte, senior vice president of PPG Aerospace, said: “We are pleased to further invest in France while providing customers with convenient access to aerospace products and services. As global travel continues to recover, this new facility enhances our global footprint and supports the industry. "
The opening of the application center is an important milestone for PPG in the aerospace field. It not only demonstrates PPG's leading position in the aerospace field, but also demonstrates the company's commitment to technology research and development and customer service. As global tourism continues to recover and the aviation market grows, PPG is expected to further expand its presence in the aerospace sector with this new facility.
