Nufarm's triple active ingredient herbicides of Sulfosulfuron, Metsulfuron-methyl and Dicamba are listed in the United States

2024-05-23

Recently, Nufarm has announced that its innovative herbicide Southpaw has been officially registered by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This breakthrough product is designed for warm-season lawns and is designed to control broadleaf weeds, grasses and sedges while ensuring high tolerance.

  • Southpaw uses a unique combination of three active ingredients: Sulfosulfuron, Metsulfuron-methyl and Dicamba, a formula that not only provides superior turf safety, but also two different mechanisms for weed resistance management.

  • Southpaw has a wide therapeutic window that allows it to be used across different seasons, providing a cost-effective and efficient solution for lawn care companies, athletic field managers, and golf course administrators.

  • The Southpaw label clearly states that the product can be used to control a variety of persistent weeds including ciliate desert-grass, nutgrass flatsedge, Lysimachia christinae Hance, clover, rhizoma graminis and others. Applicable scenarios include residential and commercial lawns, playground lawns, golf course lawns, and turf farms such as Bermuda grass.

Southpaw is expected to be available and complete state registration in late summer to fall 2024
