Syensqo launches a range of biomimetic natural ceramides Cerafy for skin care
Following the recent acquisition of JinYoung Bio, a Korean supplier of professional cosmetic ingredients, Syensqo has launched the Cerafy range of biomimetic natural ceramides for skin care and hair care.
The launch of Cerafy demonstrates Syensqo’s commitment to rapidly grow its beauty care business and product portfolio to provide more natural professional skin care solutions.
The first product in the range is Cerafy Pure NPo, a pure ceramide 3 solution that addresses the declining levels of natural ceramides within the skin. It helps protect the skin from dryness and prevents premature aging by restoring the skin barrier function.
"Ceramides are essential for maintaining the integrity of the skin, acting as a protective barrier in the outermost layer of the skin, locking in moisture and protecting against environmental damage. With Cerafy, we help formulators create responsible and personalized skincare routines that help restore, protect and maintain the beauty and health of the skin," said Léa Seidenbinder, Syensqo Global Marketing Manager for Skincare.
Cerafy is produced using a unique fermentation process, which aligns with the focus of Syensqo's Renewable Materials and Biotechnology Growth Platform. This platform uses biotechnology as an enabler for the development of renewable, carbon-based, safe chemistry to accelerate the transition to sustainable and circular solutions.
Natural ceramides are also key active ingredients in hair care and skin cleansing formulations. To this end, Syensqo will focus its research and innovation efforts in the coming months to further develop the Cerafy range.
