Kemira invests in coagulant capacity in Norway

ECHEMI 2024-09-23

Kemira is investing in the expansion of its coagulant capacity in Fredrikstad, Norway, to meet growing market demand and ensure production reliability in the Nordic region of Norway, Sweden and Finland.

The scope of the investment includes the installation of a new reactor and increased storage capacity for aluminium hydroxide, enabling better planning and logistics cost savings. The new capacity will be operational by the end of 2025.

Kemira recently announced multi-million euro investments in coagulants in Goole, UK (November 2023) and Tarragona, Spain (July 2024). These coagulant investments support Kemira’s ambitions to grow in the water and sustainable solutions sector and also provide additional supply security for Kemira’s customers.

This also enables Kemira to better support its customers’ sustainability efforts. Demand for coagulants in Europe is expected to grow as regulations tighten.
