Urgent Expansion Complete 5 Key Product Lines Upgraded at Specialty Materials Giant’s Changshu Site
On May 26, global specialty materials leader Solvay announced the major completion of an expansion project at its Changshu manufacturing facility. The upgrade significantly boosts the plant’s compounding capacity, which is now fully operational.
The expansion covers five critical high-performance polymers: Amodel® PPA, Ryton® PPS, Kalix® HPPA, Omnix® HPPA, and Ixef® PARA. These materials play a strategic role in high-demand sectors including electric vehicles, semiconductors, smart devices, and healthcare.
This move reinforces Solvay’s commitment to serving fast-growing markets with enhanced production capabilities in Asia. The investment also reflects a strategic push to support customers with locally sourced, advanced material solutions amid intensifying global supply chain demands.
By ramping up its Changshu output, Solvay is positioning itself as a resilient supplier in critical industries where material performance and reliability are non-negotiable.
