Huajin Aramco Mega Project Sees 11 Units Completed in One Day 83.7 Billion Yuan Investment Enters Production Prep Phase
On July 29, the Huajin Aramco Petrochemical and Raw Materials Complex hit a major milestone as 11 processing units—including sulfur recovery, hydrocracking, and multiple polyolefin lines—achieved mechanical completion simultaneously. The project, backed by a massive 83.7 billion yuan investment in Liaoning’s coastal economic zone, now enters the “production preparation” phase after wrapping up construction.
Key installations finished include a 400,000 t/y coker naphtha hydrotreater, 1.6 million t/y diesel hydrotreater, 1.8 million t/y gasoline hydrotreater, two 500,000 t/y polypropylene trains, and high/medium-density polyethylene and propylene oxide lines. The overall complex will feature 32 main units, including a 15 million t/y refinery, 1.65 million t/y ethylene cracker, and integrated PX facilities.
Since breaking ground in 2023, tens of thousands of builders have transformed the once-barren site into a sprawling industrial hub in just 28 months. Project management credits efficient coordination and seamless scheduling across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical works for the accelerated progress.
Next, the team will rigorously implement post-construction quality and safety checks, laying the groundwork for a smooth transition to full operation and high-quality handover.
