Diabetes-self-management

With the process of urbanization and the change of lifestyle in China, the incidence of diabetes in recent years has remained high, and there are a large number of pre-diabetic patients, which has brought tremendous physical and mental pain and economic burden to patients and families. This year's report on the work of the two sessions of the CPPCC and CPPCC proposed that chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension should be included in the coverage of medical insurance reimbursement, thus reducing the financial burden of patients. However, the effective treatment and control of chronic diseases such as diabetes can not be separated from patients'self-discipline and self-health management to a large extent. From today on, we invite Professor Xu Zhangrong, Director of Diabetes Center of Strategic Support Force Characteristic Medical Center, to attend "Health Care Hall" and launch a series of lectures "Self-health Management of Diabetes". Many people found that they had diabetes by accident or were found to be caused by diabetes in the treatment of serious complications. What kind of disease is diabetes? According to domestic and foreign surveys, 1/3-1/2 of the people surveyed found diabetes only when they were surveyed, indicating that the awareness rate of diabetes mellitus is low. Why are many people unaware of diabetes? Because in the early stage of diabetes, there are no symptoms, mostly high blood sugar, but no dry mouth, excessive drinking, polyuria and weight loss. These symptoms are the classic symptoms of diabetes - "more than three and less", which refers to excessive drinking, more food, polyuria and weight loss. In fact, the proportion of people with this classic symptoms is small, usually when blood sugar & gt; 13.0 mmol/L, this is the case. Some symptoms will be obvious. The diagnostic criteria of diabetes mellitus are fasting blood glucose (> 7.0 mmol/L) and (or) two-hour glucose tolerance load (> 11.1 mmol/L). When blood glucose is between 7.0 and 10 mmol/L, patients often do not feel obvious and will not go to the hospital for examination on their own initiative. When there are "classical symptoms" and then go for examination, blood glucose is often very high, so they need to take the initiative to do the examination. Which situations should be checked actively.

First, people with diabetes risk factors. Including family history of diabetes mellitus, past history of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and/or biliary tract diseases, obesity, age & gt; women aged 40, dyslipidemia, macrosomia (macrosomia refers to birth weight (> 4kg), history of abnormal blood sugar, non-manual workers, etc., these groups need to go to the hospital for examination on their own initiative, and recommend that blood sugar be measured both fasting and two hours after meals. If you want to be simpler, you can first measure blood sugar 2 hours after meals, and if there is a problem with blood sugar, then further measure fasting blood sugar. Now through the rapid measurement of blood sugar, it takes only 1 minute, a drop of blood, we can basically understand whether there is diabetes. Postprandial blood sugar is normal and diabetes can be excluded basically. If fasting blood sugar is normal, diabetes can not be ruled out. Patients with acute myocardial infarction, stroke, angina pectoris, tumors, mental illness and other diseases should also detect blood sugar, and timely detect diabetes to avoid serious consequences of hyperglycemia. Secondly, hyperglycemia mainly causes continuous damage to blood vessels, such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, fundus diseases, kidney diseases and other risk factors such as hyperlipidemia, hypertension, coronary heart disease, smoking, tuberculosis and so on. The more risk factors, the greater the possibility of vascular diseases. Diabetes mellitus is a relatively benign disease. Early detection and early treatment will avoid many serious consequences in the future. It is a process from quantitative change to qualitative change. For example, atherosclerosis is not formed in a day, but is caused by long-term high-fat diet, inactivity, smoking, high blood sugar and other factors. Disease is a chronic process. If the blood sugar, blood lipid and blood pressure can be controlled to normal by proper treatment (diet, exercise, drugs) at the beginning of high blood pressure, serious problems will be avoided 10 or 20 years later. Why are non-manual workers susceptible to diabetes? Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder mainly caused by the absolute or relative lack of insulin, including protein metabolism.
