The price of fresh melon and fruit in Xiamen rose 63.6% year on year in July

Last July, Xiamen's total consumer price (CPI) rose 0.5%, 2.8% year-on-year, and the cumulative increase of 2.0% from January to July. Yesterday, the Xiamen Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics released the latest dataFrom a ring-to-ring perspective, food prices rose by 1.5%, non-food prices rose by 0.2%. In the food industry, pork and fresh vegetable prices rose by 7.2% and 7.1% respectively, due to the decrease in the number of pig farms after the outbreak of "African swine fever" and the excessive rain this year. The two combined effects on CPI rose by about 0.35 percentage points. Among non-food categories, travel demand rose during the summer vacation, travel agency fees and airline ticket prices rose by 3.6% and 24.0%, respectively. Rent demand increased by 0.4% during the employment season, and CPI rose by about 0.21 percentage points.

From a year-on-year perspective, CPI rose by 2.8%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points over the previous month. Food prices rose by 11.0%, affecting CPI by 2.03 percentage points. Among them, fresh fruits, pork, vegetables and seawater fish rose by 63.6%, 22.3%, 8.8% and 12.8% respectively; non-food prices rose by 0.9%, affecting CPI by 0.75 percentage points, including 9.0% for clothing, 1.2% for housing, 2.8% for other goods and services, and 2.8% for medical care. Health rose by 1.1%.
