The total assets of China's financial institutions were 308.96 trillion yuan

According to preliminary statistics released recently by the Central Bank, the total assets of China's financial institutions at the end of the second quarter of 2019 were 308.96 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.4% over the same period last year. Among them, the total assets of banking institutions were 281.58 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.2% year on year; the total assets of securities institutions were 7.88 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.2% year on year; and the total assets of insurance institutions were 19.5 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.5% year on year. The total liabilities of financial institutions were 281.66 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.2% over the previous year. Among them, the total liabilities of banking institutions were 258.8 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.9% year on year; the total liabilities of securities institutions were 5.66 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.4% year on year; and the total liabilities of insurance institutions were 17.21 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.9% year on year.
